It's the little things... [Watching]

Wednesday, April 30, 2014

Oh Wednesday, about dang time.

A little different than normal, here are a few of the little things we've been watching as we call it a day.. Linking up with Sadie Sky Boutique and Words About Waverly.
The Mr. and I don't watch that much TV or a certain series religiously, but there have been a few shows on the TV/DVR we've un-winded to recently. Once dinner is over and cleaned up, the Little is bathed and in bed, the washer and dryer are running and the house is picked up, etc., etc., it's nice to just sit back and relax together. Here are a few things we've been watching..

I was surprised I didn't see more conversations on (my daily read) blogs about this documentary. There was quite a bit of reaction/controversy/speculation overall, but I'm realizing how there are many 'cirlces' or 'cliques' even, in the community of blogging and that may affect who is talking about this and who isn't..? Or people weren't that impressed or into it? I don't care know.

I took it for what it was - a documentary of one man's story and perspective on a journey to find out about blogging. I love blogs and have been reading them for years. I, obviously, recently just started blogging myself, so it was fun to hear these women put into words what I often think/feel but can't get out of my jumbled thoughts. The Mr. watched it with me and has always been supportive of the blog idea, so I was glad he was able to hear some of that same stuff and just see a little bit more what it's about or why people do it. Plus him giving time to my hobby/interests is just nice. Either way, I enjoyed the movie and will probably watch it again.

I never think I want to watch a 30 for 30, but a few minutes in, I'm hooked and can't wait for the next one. I'm not sure if it's because we are athletes and fans ourselves or we just appreciate a good story with more info/background, but the Mr. and I really enjoy watching these. They are obviously sports-related, some are uplifting, some are a little saddening/daunting. But no matter what, I find myself either close to tears, feeling inspired or wanting to discuss/debate the situation. There are also 30 for 30 Shorts that are just quick (30 minute) films on a particular person or story. Most of these that we've watched recently I didn't know the story, so it's fun to learn something new as well.

And on a totally different note.. Ok, don't leave just yet - I know it's raunchy, terrible and (I should probably include) vulgar.. We've been watching the series on HBO On Demand, so as you can imagine (HBO) it definitely has it's moments. There are times I turn away or roll my eyes, but overall it's stupid-funny and a mindless watch. Will Ferrell is the executive producer, so it's that kind of humor, which we enjoy. Don't judge.

These evenings together and watching shows we both enjoy are little moments that I love. Whether we just sit together quietly or discuss it, it's time that I appreciate and look forward to after busy days.

Have you seen any of these? What are your favorite shows or what have you been watching?
How do you unwind in the evenings?
